A Kokeshi doll has a special place in Japanese culture. First created in the Edo period (1600–1868), these figurines are known for their large head and simply designed body. Artist and designer Becky Kemp, aka Sketch.inc, has since modernized these types of dolls and transformed them into iconic people of art history like our favorite surrealist, Salvador Dali. The nearly 6” tall wooden toy features his signature swooping mustache and expressive brows. Display him on your desk to make your work environment a little more whimsical. He looks great next to Frida Kahlo!

About Sketch.inc
Sketch.inc is the creative studio of Becky Kemp, an artist based in South London. She started her career as an art teacher but branched out on her own in 2011 to start her commercial practice. Now, her work is inspired by a "love of Nordic design and Japanese illustration"—traits found on her beloved Kokeshi dolls.
